Griffin Newman is an actor, comedian, writer, and podcaster based out of New York City.Newman is the creator and co-host with The Atlantic’s film critic David Sims of the critically acclaimed BLANK CHECK WITH GRIFFIN AND DAVID, regularly ranked as one of the best podcasts by outlets such as Time Magazine, Esquire, Paste, and Entertainment Weekly. Recent guests on the podcast include Rachel Zegler, Patton Oswalt, and Lin Manuel Miranda. As a comedian, Newman was a regular performer across NYC’s Upright Citizens Brigade theaters and was named one of the “New Faces of Comedy” at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.As an actor, he starred in the Amazon series THE TICK, playing the lead role of 'Arthur Everest'. He recurred on Martin Scorsese’s VINYL and HBO Max’s SEARCH PARTY, as well as guest-starring on series such as DIFFICULT PEOPLE, SUPERGIRL, BLUE BLOODS, and LAW & ORDER: SVU. On the film side, Newman co-starred as ‘Rick the Intern’ in Ivan Reitman’s DRAFT DAY with Kevin Costner and appeared in many indies including the SXSW-winning FORT TILDEN and Kelly Reichardt's NIGHT MOVES.In animation, Newman has voiced Jared Kushner on Showtime's animated OUR CARTOON PRESIDENT, ‘Orko’ in Kevin Smith's MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATION for Netflix, and ‘The Mad Hatter’ on HBO Max’s HARLEY QUINN.
