Has had a stellar decades-long career playing scene stealing characters in comedy and drama for both film and television. She is perhaps best known for her Academy Award-nominated role in GOODFELLAS, and as Tony Soprano's therapist "Dr. Melfi" in THE SOPRANOS. She also portrayed “Angela Rizzoli” on all seven seasons of RIZZOLI AND ISLES.

She's having a banner year. She stars in the buzzy Stephen Chobsky-helmed NONNAS opposite Vince Vaughn and Susan Sarandon, premiering on Netflix May 9th. She also stars in RICH FLU opposite Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Timothy Spall, directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia (who is known for his mega hit Netflix film THE PLATFORM), which will have a summer release.

On the comedy side, she starred as the mother to Tim Renkow across all three seasons of the hit BBC comedy series JERK, recurred on Andrew Dice Clay's controversial Showtime comedy DICE and has a star cameo in Netflix film THE UNION opposite Mark Wahlberg.
